I am an experienced New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist (license #016581) practicing in the Hudson Valley with offices in New Paltz and Poughkeepsie. My focus as a clinician is providing you with an individualized therapeutic experience tailored to you and your goals.

I have a broad background of therapeutic experiences and expertise. I opened my private practice in 2006, providing individual and couples therapy for adults of all ages. In addition to my private practice, my experiences include being the Director of Counseling at a local college counseling center for 10 years, being a clinician at a community mental health clinic, and completing a rotation in a psychiatric emergency department. I have worked effectively with a diverse clientele on a wide range of concerns. Currently, I work with adults of all ages and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, adjustment issues and eating issues. Additional areas of specialization include working with college students and adults age 50+.

One of my passions has been providing mental health education and supervision. I have supervised over 50 clinicians-in-training, and I enjoy helping therapists to develop, hone, and sharpen their skills. I have taught a range of graduate and undergraduate courses at various colleges including Personality Assessment, Personality Theory, Abnormal Psychology, Social Psychology and History and Systems in Psychology. In addition, I frequently give talks on topics such as depression, anxiety, stress management, eating disorders, and a range of other mental health topics.

Therapeutically, I have extensive background and experience in a wide variety of modalities including psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. While I draw extensively from each of these modalities, I primarily uses a psychodynamic approach that is based on developing insight and implementing change. Having a broad base of expertise allows me to craft a personalized approach to your care.
